Oak Tree Resources offers opportunities and encouragement to young people who need support with Education, Job Skills, Employment and Avoiding Homelessness. We exist to help young people begin to heal while moving towards independence.

What We Do

Imagine a world where all young people have
the support they need to be defined by their potential,
not their circumstances.

Oak Tree Resources provides youth the opportunity to receive educational and life skills support. Independent living opportunities, and trauma-informed care for qualifying youth ages 18-24 years. Evidence-based solutions can help make a softer landing for youth transitioning into young adulthood.

Housing support is needed for some youth in Colorado, whether they are aging out of foster care, leaving an unsafe housing situation or are forced to move out Young people need additional support as they strive to find their own independence.

Whether housed in a Transitional Living Program, Host Home or temporary shelter at a motel, young people can access transitional, substance-free housing when available. Short-term host homes can be an intervention for youth who are experiencing homelessness for any variety of reasons. We will walk alongside young people who are ready to begin receiving supportive services.

Oak Tree Resources believes preventing young people from becoming homeless means educating and supporting youth and even parents.

Family restorative assistance and recommendation is available.

You don’t need a reason to help people.

“Don’t judge people for the choices they make when you don’t know the options they have to choose from.”

Compassion without action is just observation.

We serve La Plata, Montezuma, Dolores, Archuleta & San Juan counties. Oak Tree Resources operates in Colorado as a partner with Colorado’s Rural Collaborative on Runaway & Homeless Youth. This is the state’s collective effort to end youth homelessness within the rural counties.

Oak Tree Resources works with Durango School District 9R and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act aiding youth experiencing homelessness.
