Oak Tree Resources offers opportunities and encouragement to young people ages 14-24 who need support with Education, Job Skills, Employment and Avoiding Homelessness. We exist to help young people begin to heal while moving towards independence.

The Runaway and Homeless Youth Act defines youth homelessness as young people who cannot live in a safe environment with a relative and who have no other safe living arrangement.

What We Do

Imagine a world where all young people have
the support they need to be defined by their potential,
not their circumstances.

Oak Tree Resources provides young people, ages 14-24 the opportunity to receive educational and life skills support.

We offer housing support in Durango, Colorado. Whether in a Transitional Living Program, Host Home or motel, young people can access transitional, substance-free housing when available. Short-term host homes are an intervention for youth who are currently experiencing homelessness for any variety of reasons. We will walk alongside young people who are ready to begin receiving supportive services while having a place to live.

Oak Tree Resources believes preventing young people from becoming homeless means educating and supporting youth and parents.

You don’t need a reason to help people.

“Don’t judge people for the choices they make when you don’t know the options they have to choose from.”

Compassion without action is just observation.

We serve La Plata, Montezuma, Dolores, Archuleta & San Juan counties. Oak Tree Resources is a Host Home operating in Colorado as a partner with Colorado’s Rural Collaborative on Runaway & Homeless Youth. This is the state’s collective effort to end youth homelessness within the rural counties.

Oak Tree Resources works closely with Durango School District 9R and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act aiding youth experiencing homelessness.

We continue following the recommendations from our state and local health departments.  Thank you for considering Colorado’s young people in your thoughts and prayers.  We hope that we can count on you to keep supporting us as we serve the community’s most vulnerable population. Together, we can make a difference for at-risk youth.
